Digital paintings and Composites

Amy is a West Virginia Digital Art Photographer in the Fairmont area.

Amy will travel nationwide for portrait sessions and commissioned paintings.

I'm sure you are wondering exactly what a Digital Art piece is.  There are two types I offer, digital composites and commissioned digital paintings.

Digital Composites are where I take a photo of your child or children and place them in another scene that is more scenic or magical.  These composites can be photo realistic or unrealistic and more like a painting.  These pieces are meant to hang on your wall in a premium heirloom product much like art portraits some hang on their walls of children they do not know for decoration.  I would much rather have my own child displayed in that artistic form to adorn my walls with.  Premium heirloom products available for these pieces are gallery wrapped canvas or custom framing.

Digital paintings are very involved pieces and time involved generally starts around 15 hours.  These pieces start with a photo I have taken and are then painted in special software.  Once they are digitally painted, they are printed on fine art watercolor paper or unstretched canvas.  Once the prints are received, watercolor prints may be hand deckled (torn edges) if that is the style I want to use or left whole and then hand painted with acrylic mediums.  They are finished with a UV protectant to keep them from fading and to seal the paint.  Once the paintings are finished, I hand frame each piece.  Options for framing includes float mounted with mat, float mounted with no mat, or mounted and framed.

Pieces do not come with digital files.  Each piece is completely unique.
